Baroque Art

An analysis of the Baroque style, which developed in Italy at the beginning of the 17th century and spread throughout Europe. Particular emphasis will be placed on discussion of the varying intellectual, religious, and socioeconomic factors that affected such important questions as the role of patronage. Prerequisites: ENG 111, and ART 100 or 200 or 201, or permission of the instructor.
