Transfer Student Admission to Associate’s Degree Programs

Applicants who have attended another college must file a transfer application.

Applications for matriculation will be accepted from transfer students who have an official transcript verifying attendance at another college. As a rule, the College requires a grade point average equivalent to a C for transfer as a matriculated student.

The Center for Advising and Academic Success will evaluate credits of transfer students for advanced standing. Final degree credit for transfer work depends on grades earned, College, and departmental requirements. With some exceptions, a course with a grade of C or higher may be transferred. In the case of transfers from CUNY colleges, D grades are usually acceptable. Transfer credits carry a grade of Pass (P) on the CSI transcript. However, all students must complete a minimum of 30 credits at the College, including at least one-half of the credits required for the core, in order to earn an associate’s degree.

Starting in the Fall 2009 semester, in order to advance into nursing clinical, students must provide documentation for one of the following categories:

  1. United States citizenship

  2. Permanent residency

  3. International student with F1 Status

  4. Granted asylum, refugee status, temporary protected status, withholding of removal, deferred enforced departure; or deferred action status by the United States government
