Reflection and Analysis in Student Teaching (Early Childhood)

Description

2 hours; 2 credits. This course is designed to supplement an enhance student teaching responsibilities occurring in EDC 440. Candidates will have an opportunity to synthesize information learned throughout their program and produce and deliver meaningful, effective lessons addressing diverse learners and learning styles, as well as state and local standards. The course will also focus on assessing student learning and integrating technology into instruction. Several sessions will be devoted to New York City Licensing and New York State Certification requirements for the reporting of child abuse and maltreatment, in addition to drug, alcohol and violence prevention training. Prerequisites: EDC 217, EDC 310, EDC 332, EDC 340, EDC 350, EDC 360;SLS 218 and SLS 262 and a GPA of 3.0 or above. In addition; students must meet each of the following criteria: An overall grade point average of 3.0A grade point average of 3.0 in all education coursesA minimal grade of C+ in all education coursesThree faculty recommendations, at least one from a professor who can attest to your performance in the field.Satisfactory fieldwork evaluations
